State of Connecticut Winner

Please join us in congratulating Jimmy Norman, Instructional Coach & Literacy Specialist of Kolbe Cathedral High School, who has been named a State of Connecticut winner in the White House AI Challenge and is advancing to the Northeast Regional competition!

Out of more than 2,500 submissions from educators across the country and beyond, Jimmy’s innovative work stood among the very best. His project, DraftFlow, is an AI powered platform designed to support student writing by providing meaningful, standards based feedback and valuable insights for teachers.

What makes this accomplishment even more inspiring is that Jimmy taught himself how to build this system from the ground up, driven by a commitment to better support student learning.

His dedication, creativity, and perseverance truly reflect the excellence found throughout our Catholic schools. Amazing job Jimmy!

“It is truly an honor to receive recognition from you directly, and I am grateful that Chase took the time to share this with you. Without the leadership and support of Principal Figluizzi and Director Chase, as well as the entire Kolbe family, I would never have been able to make such an accomplishment possible.

This entire experience has been humbling, and I am proud to represent Kolbe Cathedral and the Diocese of Bridgeport in this way. I do not take that responsibility lightly and will continue to give my best everyday.” – Jimmy Norman

Jimmy’s platform and tool can be accessed at www.draftflow.pro and any teacher can access and use it by typing in “DRAFTFLOW TEACHER 2026” when they click on the Google Sign-In.

Across all Diocese of Bridgeport schools, educators like Jimmy continue to inspire innovation, growth, and a passion for learning in our students every day.
